The Trustees of the Northill Parochial Charities administer funds on behalf of a number of historic charities which were established to benefit Northill Parishioners. The Charities are registered and make annual returns to the Charity Commissioners.

This Charity oversees the following:
General Poor Fund – Established to give relief in poverty and sickness to residents of (the parish of) Northill. Comprises the Clement Marsland & John Atterton Charities.
Widows Fund – Established by the Rev Robert Hancock for the benefit of sick and poor widows of the parish.
Paths Fund – Originally established by the Rev Robert Hancock to enable those attending Christian worship to use well maintained footpaths to reach the churches in the parish. This responsibility now rests with the local authorities and landowners and in 2012, following a successful application to the Charity Commissioners, the objective of the Charity was revised to ‘promote religion by providing support to the established Christian churches in the ecclesiastical parish of Northill’.
Mr Smiths’ Gift – Externally provided funds from the Henry Smith Charity distributed locally to the poor, sick and needy in the Parish.
The Charities receive income from bequeathed assets in the form of investments and property. The Trustees are responsible for the fair and equitable distribution of assistance by way of grants within the limits and terms of the individual Charity’s objectives.

Charity Name: Elizabeth Hutchinson’s Charity
Elizabeth Hutchinson Charity – Elizabeth Hutchinson originally established two charities; one to support fatherless girls, the second to make grants to students who are in further education. These were combined over 50 years ago to support student parishioners ‘in further education’.
